Personal Safety

   👮    👪     👫     😎

    😄 PERSONAL SAFETY 👀

The world we live in today is much safer than the one known by your parents and grandparents.  Even considering the constant bombardment of news to the contrary, the government and industry have taken some major steps to protect us all.  In almost everything we do, we are surrounded by protection based on safety experience from the past.

You'll be safer - - but only if you have a strong feeling for safety.  Why?  Because many of the safety factors developed to protect you function only if you do something about them.  Do you buckle your seat belt every time you get in the car?  Do you cross the street at crosswalks instead of jaywalking?  Do you walk or jog on the left side of the road so that you are facing oncoming traffic?  These are just a few of the things that you know and can do something about.

👉    We all must acknowledge the fact that we bear some of the responsibility for making our environment safe and safety is thinking about other people, too.  Because in this safety awareness, we can take steps to help others.  For instance, a jagged piece of metal and certain types of broken  bottles on the street can cause tire problems to cars.  Broken glass on the beach might also send someone to the hospital for stitches.  When you take time to clean up things such as broken bottles, etc., you're taking a big step toward protecting others.

An accident is something that happens to you and to others.  It's easy to think that these accidents just happen.  Buy they don't.  They're not just bad luck or bad breaks that come to you out of nowhere.  An accident is never supposed to happen.  It isn't planned and it isn't deliberate.  Accidents are caused!

An accident can be caused by an unsafe condition.  Look at your automobile.  It can be a typical example of an unsafe condition.  Bad brakes and unsafe tires, faulty headlights, loose steering, and, yes, even dirty windshields and side windows can cause accidents, and they are all unsafe conditions.  And along this same line, we need to consider unsafe acts as also contributing to the cause of accidents.  These are not "conditions."  They are what you, or someone else, does or doesn't do.  A good example is jaywalking.  You know it's dangerous to walk out between parked cars to cross the street, but it's easier than walking down to the next corner.

Both unsafe conditions and unsafe actions exist, and either one can cause accidents.  But you can put the two together, as well.  That car with the poor brakes, and all the other unsafe conditions, isn't unsafe at all  until someone starts to use it.  It's the act of using that causes the accident.  Oh sure, the car was at fault, but the driver of that car was the ultimate cause of the accident.

You will find many unsafe conditions in your daily life, but most of them become truly unsafe based on your own actions related to them.  What causes you to act in an unsafe way?  Is it carelessness?  Poor judgement, were you at the wrong place at the wrong time?

👌  There's never a total absence of risks in our lives.  Risks are voluntary actions and can be managed.  Emergencies can be met and handled, but it takes know-how and constant awareness.  What you can't prevent, you can usually compensate for or protect against.

Safety experts classify accidents in four broad categories:  Motor vehicle, work and job related, home, and public.  The public category excludes motor vehicle and work accidents in public places.  It covers sports and recreation (swimming, hunting, etc.), air, water, or land transportation excluding motor vehicle and public building accidents.

On the average, there are 10 accidental deaths and about 1,000 disabling injuries every hour during the year.  About one-half of the deaths occur in motor vehicle accidents while about one-third of the injuries occur in and around the home.

It's not hard to imagine adding yourself to the accident statistics.  Any day of the week, you'll be swamped with stories in the newspapers and on television about the many tragic accidents going on all over the country and it seems to be getting worse all the time.  And in every case the victim was somebody who did not plan or expect that they would be hurt or killed. 👊

In a matter of seconds, everything you were ever going to do and be, can be snuffed out.  At the least, you suffer pain and inconvenience from an accident.  At worst, an accident kills or damages you for life. 😢

Safety saves you, but it does more than that.  Mix each safety ingredient with all of your day to day activities.  An use common sense in everything you do.

Safety in your home is a combination of mind and matter.  You mind must be constantly aware of the home safety dangers.  The matter is the safety condition of your home.

The safety condition of your home isn't a case of rebuilding things to make it safe.  It's more the disposal of dangerous items, and a case of good housekeeping.  A safe home has a place for everything, and that along with the right mental attitude about keeping those things in place is just good housekeeping.

The home is the most frequent place for injury accidents to occur, and it is second only to motor vehicle accidents for the number of deaths in the country today.  Family members are busier than ever rushing in and out so it's easy to understand how careless mistakes are often made.

When you read the daily newspaper or watch newscasts on TV, you'll see that home accidents can be classified in two major ways.  There are things that can totally disrupt your entire community - - such as earthquakes, tornadoes, storms and floods.

And then there are those kinds of accidents that are centered in your own home, and not involving the whole community.  These are things like fires, local earth sliding, flooding and wind damage.

You will need to consider both types when thinking about safety at home.  For the community - wide disasters, you may or may not receive any outside help for a considerable period of time, and you must be prepared to survive on your own home resources.  With the second type, your home may be destroyed, but some help should be there from the outside, early in the experience.  Most cities and communities have some agencies and organizations in place to assist the public in times of severe emergencies.

It is wise for everyone to do a home safety check on a regular basis and get the family members involved.  Naturally, every family needs to develop its own plan because every house and every family is different. You will find many unsafe situations around your home and correcting them will make your environment much safer.

Sedition

Sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that tends toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent toward, or resistance against, established authority.     [According to Wikipedia]

Sedition is a serious felony punishable by fines and up to 20 years in prison and it refers to the act of inciting revolt or violence against a lawful authority with the goal of destroying or overthrowing it.

Does this describe anything in the news in the last 6 months ?

Why are the people that are charged with keeping us safe letting this go on ?

It would only take a few of the the law breakers to be arrested and charged accordingly before they would get the idea that it wasn't going to be excepted !

Yet they're still rioting and burning, and shooting police, because they don't like the way our constitution or our laws are enforced.  If someone doesn't get a handle on it real soon, the Government will have to declare Marshal Law !

                                           SUBVERSION

Subversion is literally the "turning over" of something. In the 1950s and '60s, many people worried about communist subversion of the U.S. government, though they often saw subversive activities where none existed. Nondemocratic governments often claim that anyone who disagrees with them or joins a demonstration is a subversive.

Sounds like some of the rhetoric from factions on the left, wow do you suppose there are some people in our Government that could be Socialists ?

P.S. Our prayers go out to the officers that were shot in Louisville !

Who You Gonna Call ?

I can remember scenes like this from years ago. When, as a child you were taught that the Police were your friend. They were there when you needed them and usually quickly, but now ?

What happened to the beat cop ? The ones that would park their unit and walk the sidewalks of the community they serve and befriend shop owners and citizens alike.

One thing, in some areas of certain cities they are not welcome !  They would have rocks and bottles  or worse thrown at them and their unit destroyed, as we have seen happen this year by "peaceful protesters".

We have lost respect for the rule of law and the officers, most just doing a very stressful job, who are charged with enforcing those laws. Keep in mind that the officer is not trying to judge a suspect when he's  assessing the situation, he just makes a judgement call based on the information obtained at the scene and determines whether someone should, or should not, be held and later face a judge to explain their actions.

Now it has become hard to rely on any help from the police, in most cities, to come to your aid within any time to save you from harm because they have been disrespected so much, by even their superiors, that they are afraid to confront anyone, that they will be second guessed about how they handled it, plus they are now short staffed to the point that they only have time to handle the call outs, with no time for patrol or to even try to interact with the public at large.

So now it's evident that we need to take measures to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe without relying on the police. That means securing our homes and persons from violence, with alarms and personal protection items, learning how to use said items and keeping safe until the police do arrive.

I've partnered with a company that offers these items, and listed the catalog elsewhere on this blog, so that anyone can get their hands on good reliable self protection at a reasonable price, in hopes of helping everyone to stay safe.   Dutch

Responsability

Due unto others, Carma, What goes around comes around, all of these allude to the same concept.

Taking responsibility for your actions ! Edgar Casey spoke of this and stated that what we project into the world, we get back, sometimes 10 fold. So if you put out good vibes or love and understanding, you get that back and sometimes in a bigger amount. At the same time if you put out anger, hatred, disrespect and general criminal behavior, that's what you will get back, and that just makes your life worse.

We as parents have dropped the ball in the last 50 years or so. We have stopped teaching our children, at an early age, to be responsible  for what we do and not try to blame someone else if we get caught doing something wrong. Now we have several generations that blame everything and everybody else for the state we are in, causing a great dilemma which we treat with alcohol and drugs because we are not happy with our place in life. We have lost control and don't know how to get it back.

I see an awful lot of anger in society today and I fear it won't get better until people start taking responsibility for there own actions and start trying to live in a manor that excepts differences and stop trying to tear down America to rebuild it with something that has never worked, in all the times it has been tried. This country is diverse in many ways and we have freedoms that no other country on earth has and we need to come together and rejoice in that, not destroy it.

I learned very young about taking responsibility and started applying one thought to any situation that I was confronting and that was; What is the worst that could happen if I do this, and can I live with that outcome. If I didn't like the outcome, even knowing that the worst may not happen, I would not do what I'd planned. This one concept has saved me a lot of grief in my life and I recommend it to everybody.

Christians have another way to help them and that is "WWJD" or when confronted with a dilemma, ask yourself, "What Would JESUS Do." The answer is almost impossible to apply in every case because we are human, but it would sure help if more tried  hard to accomplish it.  Dutch

What the CRAP !

Did you see the video of the 2 officers shot in California ?

The shooter looked like a kid or midget, are they recruiting kids to kill cops now ?

I wouldn't blame the cops in these liberal cities to have a severe case of "Blue Flu" and not report to work for about a week and if that wasn't enough to bring the mayors back to reality, start looking for other employment and let BLM and Antifa run the cities until every decent citizen leaves the state.

What a load of CRAP !

If we don't get a handle on this real soon the only thing left is for the Government to declare "Martial Law" and take back those cities and charge the mayors and governors with federal crimes then replace them with people who can supply the citizens with what they deserve from their local government.

Free speech and freedom to assemble is a right we all have, but Robbery, looting, and destruction isn't part of any rights offered by the constitution, and if those people don't like America no one is stopping them from leaving.

Go try that nonsense in China, Russia, or anywhere in the Middle East, and see how long you last.  It's only because thousands of solders have died or been injured in war, that we have the ability to regress our government peaceably and these thugs should be arrested, charged with TREASON, and removed from society. Maybe send them to fight instead of our loved ones.
